Duties and responsibilities
- Creates documentation of new and existing system configuration and procedural information, and ensures system configurations documentation is complete and accurate.
- Plans the implementation of hardware and software changes into environments and one or more additional IT production environments by performing impact analyses of system changes.
- Evaluate new technology and techniques for suitability and incorporation into our computing infrastructure when appropriate.
- Participate in and/or lead the design and implementation of solutions to meet customer requirements.
- Apply patches, update, and perform general maintenance and repair on productions systems to ensure continued security, availability, reliability, and functionality.
- Diagnose and resolve complex multi-system problems with operating systems, hardware and/or storage problems supported by this team.
- Mentor junior staff and direct their work associated with projects they are managing.
In Summary, as a Tech Lead Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for your team activity, development and promotion. You will need expert knowledge of Operating Systems, Hardware, and Storage. This position is responsible for the creation of new solutions, the enhancement of existing solutions, the diagnosis of complex problems, and the repair of existing solutions.
Qualifications
- Deep understanding of various storage technologies such as Direct Attached Storage (DAS), Network Attached Storage (NAS), and Storage Area Networks (SAN)
- Familiarity with different types of storage arrays (RAID configurations, SSDs, HDDs) and their respective use cases
- Experience with storage management tools and software such as EMC Isilon, NetApp ONTAP, Dell EMC Unity, or similar platforms.
- Proficient in operating systems such as Windows, Linux, Unix.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
- Familiarity with Load Balancer Types and Solutions
- Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and services.
- Experience leading a team of system administrators. (Not mandatory)
- Ability to delegate tasks effectively and prioritize workload.
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to resolve conflicts.
